Membership Criteria for the Directors Guild of Pakistan (DGP)

FILM / TV / STREAMING DIVISION

Full Members

  • Professional directors with at least three (3) completed and publicly released projects (TV drama, game show, reality show, web series) on A or B rated Pakistani satellite/terrestrial channels, or Tier 1/2 international streaming services.
  • At least two feature films released with a minimum of seven days in 2 or more cinemas.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the field.

Associate Members

  • Emerging directors with at least two (2) completed and publicly released projects.
  • Assistant directors with at least three completed and publicly released projects.
  • Must be actively working in the Pakistani market with last commercial shot within 2 years.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the industry.

Honorary Members

  • Veteran directors who have significantly contributed to the industry.

Note:

  • Emerging directors with at least two (2) completed and publicly released projects.
  • Assistant directors with at least three completed and publicly released projects.
  • Must be actively working in the Pakistani market with last commercial shot within 2 years.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the industry.

Submission Requirements:

  • Submit a portfolio of past directorial work (showreel, links, or references).
  • Endorsement by two eligible candidates (for full membership).

COMMERCIALS DIVISION

Full Members

  • A minimum of 7 commercials in portfolio for local and international brands.
  • Currently working actively in the Pakistani market, last commercial shot within one year.
  • A minimum of 5 commercials aired on A-rated TV channels.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as director.

Associate Members

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as assistant director.
  • Currently working actively in the Pakistani market, last commercial shot within one year.
  • Referred by a member director of the DGP.

Submission Requirements:

  • Submit a portfolio of past directorial work (showreel, links, or references).
  • Endorsement by two eligible candidates (for full membership).
